For government leaders
A Child Friendly District
Government is the irrigation canal: it carries help to every field, but only if each channel is kept open.
What you can do
- Make sure every child is covered by ICDS, school meals and full immunisation, with no gaps.
- Review simple district dashboards every month: births registered, anaemia, stunting, enrolment, dropouts.
- Fill vacancies for Anganwadi workers, ASHAs, ANMs and teachers, and train them well.
- Enforce laws against child marriage and child labour, and keep Childline 1098 well staffed.
- Put children in the budget: track spending on children across departments each year.
Take the first step
We'll prepare a short briefing on child outcomes and practical next steps for your district or department.
